Happy Thanksgi...ah whatever...

I’m too tired to do Thanksgiving. What, pray tell has me exhausted? Why my NaNoWriMo novel, The Covington Witches, that’s what. Yep. I’m at the 75% mark and hoping to finish in time. It’s going to come down to the wire. What with the procrastination, the endless cups of coffee I have to brew, the leaves I have to follow on their path from the tree to the leaf-strewn ground below, I’m busy, people! I have no time to cook Thanksgiving dinner. And I love Thanksgiving. All of it. All of the food I mean. I need baked macaroni and cheese. I’ve never deserved baked macaroni and cheese more in my life than this November.
But, I don’t have time to cook it. Or any of the other dishes I’m tasked with cooking. Because everything I do is in service of THE BOOK. Even this blog post, of course, sorry, but it is. It’s the place where I get to talk my book. It is the reason for the blog’s existence. But, I’m too tired.
Gobble, gobble.

Family Ties

Do you have family members that drive you insane? How do you handle them? What if your family was peopled with witches? That’s what the main character of my new book The Covington Witches has to deal with; learning that she comes from a family of witches, that apparently everyone else knows this and finding out that she is a witch herself! How will Imara handle the shocking revelations?

If the family can keep this secret, what other secrets are they keeping?

Coming of Age

The writing is going well. Whether the story is completed during NaNoWriMo this year or not remains to be seen… This story is really a coming of age story for the main character, Imara Covington, and how she comes into her own and begins to get a glimpse into the incredible power that she wields in the course of the story. I've enjoyed taking the journey with her so far and meeting her, uh, shall we say colorful family members. There really is a whole world simmering beneath the surface here and I’m just glad I can come along for the ride.
